Silent TreatmentButch's P.O.V.
I think Buttercup is ignoring me. On purpose.
High school has been rough on the both of us. The teachers hate us, we've got enough detentions to last 'til college, and we've got straight C's and D's- plus a few B's for BC (but that's not fair since I skipped kindergarten through second grade, when Him made me and my brothers go). But apparently when I mention how much worse it must be for her since she's gotta maintain her "good guy reputation" thingy, it results in a big argument. Not that that's uncommon. But that whole "good guy vs. bad guy" thing is back on now and there's tension between us again. And, rather than beating me senseless over every little thing like usual- which I would have been perfectly fine with (which is also normal)- she decided to take the stupid high road and just give me the silent treatment. Someone's been hanging around her sisters a little too much.
"Psst, Buttercup," I whispered as the Language Arts teacher lect

The score is 5 to 1, us losing, much to my team’s dismay. But Butch is team captain. So what do you expect?
This is the bad thing about gym. Whoever seems to be the most competitive gets to be team captain. Hence the team captains being Butch and Buttercup. Which of course won’t end well. Butch has been whining and complaining and yelling at the team to try harder and keep their guard up. Hmph. Now he knows how I feel.
The difference between him yelling at the team and me yelling at him is that when I yell, it’s actually his fault. Now that he’s yelling, it’s still his fault. This is middle school floor hockey, and each team gets split into two. One half goes on defense, the other goes on offense, then we switch. Butch put four good players on one half and two on the other. And on top of that, they’re not even split even. Well, each team has 13 players, so they can’t be even anyway, but Butch

I am not talking to him.
He is a jerk. And a villain. He's a... jerky villain. But what else is new? I'd gotten used to that. We were frienemies. But then he went along and reminded me of just how much bad rules his life, and the contrast of the good in mine. In the form of a very insulting argument.
I'd typically start a fight- a physical one- over things like this. But that's just what he wants. He likes getting beat up as much as I like beating him.
So I'm not talking to him.
Butch, I mean.
And it's harder than it looks.
He's been so annoying all week! He's been throwing food and paper airplanes and spitballs and scrap paper and poking me and yelling at me and repeating my name and it's so annoying! Why can't he just leave me alone?!
"Buttercup! Come on, Buttercup! It's been a week!" Butch shouted, stepping on my heels as we walked to gym. "Buttercup!"
Shut up! I thou
